Privacy Policy for Budget Baseline
Last updated: June 2026
Budget Baseline (hereinafter referred to as the “App”) is a personal finance assistant designed with an offline-first approach. Privacy is a core pillar of our product philosophy: your data belongs entirely to you and remains under your exclusive control.
1. Overview
The App is engineered to operate locally on your device to respect and protect your privacy. The developer of the App does not own, operate, or maintain any backend servers, and does not collect, store, or have access to your personal or financial information. All data is stored either locally on your physical device or within your personal cloud storage, which is managed solely by you.
2. Data Collection and Processing by the Developer
We do not collect personal or sensitive user data:
User Accounts: No registration or account creation (via email, phone number, or social media) is required to use the App.
Identifiers and Tracking: We do not collect advertising IDs, we do not track actions across third-party apps, and we do not perform behavioral or marketing profiling.
Financial Data: All information regarding your income, expenses, budgets, and balances is processed exclusively on your device.
3. Local Data Storage
Any data you input into the App (such as budgets, dates, recurring transactions, or balance entries) is stored in a local database (SQLite) residing entirely within the App's sandbox on your device. You have full control over this data. Uninstalling the App from your device will permanently delete this local database.
4. Cloud Backup Feature (User's Personal Google Drive)
The App provides an optional cloud backup feature that you can initiate manually or schedule to run automatically once per day.
When utilizing this feature, please note the following:
Full User Ownership: The backup file is saved directly to your personal Google Drive account. The developer has no relationship with, access to, or control over your personal storage.
Limited Scoped Access (
drive.file): The App requests access only to the specificdrive.fileOAuth scope. This means the App is technically restricted and can only interact with files and folders that it has created itself (the backup files). The App cannot view, modify, or access any other personal files, photos, or documents on your Google Drive.Direct Encrypted Transmission: Data is transmitted directly from your device to Google's servers via a secure, encrypted channel (HTTPS). The developer cannot intercept, read, or access your backup files during transit or storage.
5. Technical Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)
To monitor and improve application stability, the App integrates Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google LLC.
Information Collected: In the event of an unexpected application crash or critical error, an automated technical report is sent to the Firebase platform. This report contains non-personally identifiable technical information, including device model, operating system version, memory state at the time of the crash, and the technical error log (stack trace).
Anonymity: This data is entirely anonymized. It does not contain names, email addresses, financial entries, budget details, or any other personal information. It is utilized by the developer solely to identify and fix software bugs.
6. Network Usage
The App utilizes an internet connection strictly for two isolated functions:
Transmitting anonymous technical logs to Firebase Crashlytics following a crash.
Transferring your backup file directly to your personal Google Drive account (only if enabled by you).
7. Third-Party Services
To facilitate stability monitoring and optional cloud backups, the App interacts with the following services provided by Google LLC:
Google Drive API (for personal cloud backup integration, at the user's discretion).
Firebase Crashlytics (for anonymous crash and diagnostic logs).
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
If the App's data handling practices or features change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
9. Contact Us
If you have any questions or feedback regarding this Privacy Policy, you can contact the developer via the email address provided on the App's official Google Play Store listing.
